In 2006 German DJ/producer Felix Kröcher was elected Best New DJ by the readers of music magazine Raveline. In 2020 he's still going strong! In 2015 we had a chat about his DJ debut. “Did I make any mistakes? Where to start?”
“Well, I started very early to throw parties at school and with the age of 16 I already played at the U60 in Frankfurt. That´s where I got my first experiences. I think I got some very good lessons there at the right ‘school’.”
Sven Väth and Chris Liebing
“Musically, I guess I got influenced most by my hometowns scene in Frankfurt am Main. Talking about my hometown, surely Sven Väth and Chris Liebing were of great influence. Also the line-up of the Timewarp event influenced the development of my DJ style massively. Think names like Carl Cox and Marco Carola. There inspired me a lot. Until today, I get inspired by events and sets played by others.
Nature One 2005
“One of my first breakthrough gigs was definitely the Nature One Festival 2005. I was to open the Century Circus and everyone who was important to me, was there to see me: my parents, family members, friends, colleagues from Radio Sunshine Live and even some schoolmates were present.”
Amazing
“This gig was unforgettable. I started playing at 6 PM when they opened the gates of the festival. Within 20 minutes the floor was packed. That was amazing and something I will never forget!”
Hours and days
“Of course, I prepared my first set well at home. I think I spent many hours and days on it. But you know, I still do. I always prepare each and every set very carefully.”
“Did I make any mistakes? Where to start?” (laughs) “I am only 31 now, but have been around in this scene for quite a while now. Yet, I still learn every day. You always try to improve yourself.”

Who is Felix Kröcher?
Felix Kröcher has his finger at the pulse of time. But what makes him and his music so special? Of course – Felix Kröcher does not only play music. He lives and celebrates music and casts a spell over everyone. Because he is an artist as well as an entertainer with a great heart and a great portion of lifeblood. And this lifeblood comes to light all over again with each set, so that the journey is a new one and becomes uncomparable.
At the same time he is known to be a pioneer setting signs for the next forthcoming generation of electrical music. 2001 the smart artist from Frankfurt started a training at the Radio-Station sunshine-live. Only three years later he went on air with his own radio show “Felix Kröcher” (formely known as ‘Hardliner’).
In 2005 Felix Kröcher supplemented his manifold extensive references, which he had already obtained as a DJ at that point at the international Frankfurt Club U60311. And after two years he turned it into his own event series “When The Going Gets Tough” thus replacing Chris Lieblings legendary “Freitagaaabend”. On top of that Felix Kröcher launched his own label FK-Recordings in 2007. Raveline readers of Germany’s most well-known magazine for Electro & Clubsound honoured Felix Kröcher’s untiring passion for electronic dance music as well as his constant presence in front of the audience voting him “Best DJ National” at the official Raveline Voting in 2007 as well as 2008. In the following years Felix Kröcher was again appearing in the top 3 votings.
Events like Mayday, Loveparade, TimeWarp, Nature One, Wire, Creamfields, Urban Art Forms, SonneMondSterne, Free Your Mind, Mysteryland, Awakenings of Moving City are permanent dates in his annual gigs. But not only Europe is a is part of Felix Kröcher’s constant Tour- Schedule. At the latest since his DISCOVER World Tour Felix Kröcher counts as one of the international To-DJ’s, who move the entire globe with their music and whose names are known far beyond the European boundaries.
Felix Kröcher stands for lived out techno with a special feeling and a large portion of passion. He is an artist with a keen sense of vibes and upcoming trends and thus a true master of his trade. Both his broad musical know-how and his friendly personality make him a true magnet for the audience and gained him numerous top positions in the yearly votings of pertinent medias within the scene. You will certainly continue to hear a lot from Felix Kröcher when it comes to fresh, long-lasting and high-quality techno.
